Brewnook

Cookie policy

Last updated 3 November 2026

This page lists every cookie brewnook.shop sets, what it is for and how long it lasts. Cookies are small text files your browser keeps for a website.

Your choice

When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics. Essential only keeps the shop working and nothing else. Accept analytics also turns on Google Analytics. Until you choose, no analytics run. To change your choice later, delete the bn_consent cookie in your browser settings (or clear this site's cookies); the banner then asks again on your next visit.

The shop uses no advertising cookies and no social-media trackers.

Essential cookies

These are needed for the shop to work, so they do not need your consent. They are set by brewnook.shop itself, are not readable by scripts on the page (except currency and bn_consent, which hold only a preference) and are sent only over an encrypted connection.

  • bn_cart: links your browser to your cart on our server, so your cart is kept between visits. Contains a random token, not your cart itself. Lasts 30 days from your last change to the cart.
  • brewnook_customer: keeps you signed in to your account. Contains a random session token. Without "Keep me signed in" it lasts until you close your browser; with it, up to 30 days. Removed when you sign out.
  • brewnook_order: lets this browser open the order page of an order placed or opened as a guest, without an account. Contains a random token. Lasts 90 days.
  • currency: remembers the currency you chose in the header (EUR, GBP or USD). Lasts one year.
  • bn_consent: remembers your answer to the cookie banner. Lasts one year.

Analytics cookies, only with your consent

If you choose Accept analytics, Google Analytics 4 is loaded and sets these cookies on brewnook.shop:

  • _ga: tells visits from the same browser apart. Lasts up to 2 years.
  • _ga_ followed by our measurement ID: keeps the state of the current visit. Lasts up to 2 years.

We use them to see which pages and products are viewed, which products are added to the cart, and how many visits lead to an order. Google shortens your IP address before storing it. Google acts as our processor for this; see our privacy policy for more on who receives data.

Staff cookies

Our staff back office runs on a separate address and sets its own sign-in cookies there. Customers never receive them.

Managing cookies in your browser

You can see and delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. If you block essential cookies, your cart, sign-in and order pages will not work.
